The daughter of the chairman of Korean Air recently landed in hot waters after she ordered a flight attendant to be removed before take off because she was served Macadamia nuts in a bag instead of a bowl.  The ridiculous demand, made shortly before take off, led to confusion at JFK Airport in New York, as the flight crew and ground officials discussed returning the plane to the gate. Today, the chairman himself, and his daughter both apologized for the event. The “nut-rage” has sparked a larger conversation in Korea about large family conglomerates. Local sales of Macadamia nuts surged following this well publicized mishap.
