Commenting on the launch, dnata Travel Middle East and India senior vice president Abdulla Tawakul said: “Halal tourism is one of the fastest growing segments in the global travel industry representing $230 billion in annual spending by 2020.

Packages include destinations such as Zanzibar, Kuala Lumpur and Geneva and will focus on customers in the 57 Muslim countries, with a large portion of bookings expected from GCC countries. Interest is also expected from customers in Western Europe, including the United Kingdom and Spain.
The decision by dnata travel to cater to this segment of travellers comes on the heels of research which shows Muslim travellers biggest un-met needs on holidays are access to Halal food and a Muslim-friendly experience.
